1mth of Confinement

Mummy has been eating repeatative meals via same cooking method almst day in & day out during this whole month. Chinese believe that you shld be eating certain type of fish, herbs, etc to strengthen the body. Am getting sick of the food !!! so glad that the days are over.

Breakfast : Mee Sua with Ikan Billis soup base / Bread & Milk / Half Boil Egg & Milk. Chicken Essence is a must go with the above

Lunch & Dinner : Papaya Fish Soup & Fish (i was only given 2 kind of fish - "ang kao" or "gor hee")

Supper : Black Chicken Soup (either with chinese herbs or wine)

Drink : i have not drank a sip of plain water for 1 whole month !! This part was easy for me becoz i have never like plain water :P So did i go without any liquid for the whole mth ? of coz not.. i was given red dates drink. (red & blue dates, dried longgan & some herbs).

One thing i did not follow strictly was that i bath once in every 2 days.. The confinement aunty will boil 2 pots of water with 2 packets of "qu fen chao" & ginger for me to mix with hot water.. for mummy bathing needs.

Mummy route for the whole mth was.. Cowing, Breakfast, Rest, Cowing, Lunch, Rest, Cowing, Rest Cowing, Dinner, Rest, Cowing, Sleep. Someone please save me..... HELP !!! haha

Lets do some gossiping... Confinement aunty was almst perfect during the first few days, daddy & mummy were very happy thinking that life would be a bliss for the rest of the month.. But soon, our nightmare began.. she is stuborn.. daddy asked her not to carry you to make milk but she continue to ignore daddy saying that she is very experienced ! she better not hurt you accidentally else daddy will sue her :P she is acting like she is the boss of the house, move things around the house without asking, open new detergent , milk powder etc without informing us that existing stock has been finished so that we are aware & to replace it, keep asking daddy where is daddy going when daddy leaves the house or is home late... DAMN KPO... & many other small small issues..

Of coz she is not that bad or daddy would have sent her home.. she is quite discipline & is gd at time management.

We are so glad that she is finally going back.. can u imagine we are paying her $$ & yet we cant wait for her to leave our home.. haha.. so ironic right =D

To a New Beginning

Mummy accepted Christ on 27th Oct 1996 (if i rem the date correctly). Darling is born on 26th Oct 2006. You are like a God's gift to us & we thank God for your safe arrival.

On the course to try for a baby, Mummy found out that i have endometriosis, cysts & fibriod and went for laproscopy hysterectomy in 2004.

Prior to conceiving you, Mummy was found to be pregnant in Aug 2005. However, it turn out to be an ectopic pregnancy & i went for another laparoscopy hysterectomy in 2005.

By God's Grace, Mummy managed to conceive you in Jan 2006 & your due to arrive in early Nov 2006. However, you decided to pop on 26th Oct 2006. It's like you are here to mark a new beginning for Mummy life & yours !!

During the day, visitors came & go from the hospital. Mummy is very happy & its like i am in a dream... reality strike me only when nurses bring darling to me for breast feeding during mid night (27th Oct 2006 - 10 year anniversary of me accepting Christ). I have a baby !! I am a mother !! I have loads of responsibility lying ahead of me !! It really feel different, no words can explain how i feel then. People may feel that it's just pure coincidence but i truly believe that your a present from God ! Thank you Lord.

Daddy & Mummy has decided not to give you a christian name. We will let you decide for yourself if christianity is the religion for you.

Welcome to the Goh Family !!!

1st Day at Home !!

We were so glad your jundice has came down to 8.3 & Dr Tan gave his approval for your discharge from the hospital. We were suppose to be discharged by 12pm but the hospital took such a long time to process the payment & by the time we left the hospital was ard 1pm.

We had lunch at nainai's home. Mummy also tried feeding you but think the milk flow was not in yet (u lost abt 400g++ since you say hello to this world), really make our heart ache to see you so small & fragile.

It is really amazing that newborn have "storage" & can go without food for the 1st 3days. I guess that is why you can sleep for ages (sleeping beauty) before you will cry for milk.

One the way home, Daddy went to Popo's home to lead her to our place as Popo does not know her way. By the time we are home, it was around 3.30pm !! Yeezhang Clement also brought yeeyee Joyce & Isabelle to see you & help Daddy and Mummy to settle down. Oh ya, Uncle Alan & Aunty Zoey together with Aunty Josephine & Jernice also visited you at home. Aunty Zoey will deliver lulu (their daughter) in February next year.. it would soon be our turn to visit them !!

Hospital Stay

We had to stay in hospital an additional day because bebe has got jundice & Dr Tan wanted you to be under the ultraviolet light 24hrs to lowered your jundice level. He did not perform any blood testing on you as he is very sure that your jundice level was high and he did not want you to suffer.

Initially we were so excited that we could bring you home on 28 Oct but when we were told that you are no allowed to be discharged, daddy & mummy broke down.. Mummy fear has occured. mummy was a jundice bebe and had to have blood transfusion. Popo said that if she has delayed 1 extra day to sent mummy to hospital, mummy would have died. We prayed that you will be oki & that your jundice level will go down.. God has answered our prayers and finally we could bring you home.

During our hospital stay (26 Oct to 29 Oct), we have so many visitors !!! so many uncles and aunties came to visit bebe, arn't you honoured =D We were showered with so much concern, love & gifts !!!

The BIG Day

7.30am: We registered at the labour ward and was allocated delivery suite 7. We heard from another Mummy-to-be that we had one of the bigger room compared to some which are much smaller.

Okie, Sister came, asked a few questions & left us alone. She is in charge of caring for Mummy throughout the labour process. However, we got a bit worried becoz she kept asking the same question which we have given our reply earlier. She seem blur or maybe she has not taken her coffee for the day. Haha! Jokes aside, we were so worried when she started preparing the dosage & medication for the epidural. Imagine if she has prepared something short or more. Oh my! We decided to stop letting our imagination run wild... ...

8.30am: The arrival of Dr Ho !!! He came to burst Mummy waterbag.. the process was a little uncomfortable and painful.. right after he done it.. Whooze.. whooze.. water or whatever u call that just rushed out with some blood... it felt so warm !! hee... mummy is so disgusting rite.. Erm.. contraction soon came after the bursting of the waterbag..

9.30am.. the arrival of the anesthesian.. i mst say he is gd.. the pain was much bearable from the needles he poke into mummy compare to the contraction :) It is only today that i know the dosage of pain killer via epidural can be adjusted as and when we like.. mummy was given 15ml or 15?? soon, my leg was so numb that i felt nothing from tummy till bottom down.. This is not my wish as i would still wanna feel smthing during your arrival.. i am also afraid that the dosage is so high until the extent that i may become paralyse after the delivering process..

10.00am till 1.00pm.. contraction came stronger and stronger.. we reduce the pain relieve dosage from 15 to 5 so that mummy can feel some pain.. half the time, daddy is missing from the room, busing supervising the labour ward.. mummy is so angree with him !!! instead of keeping mummy company, he went to kpo on other's couple delivering process & going in and out of toilets.. wat a gan cheong daddy rite..

1.00pm.. cervix dilate to 10cm.. Dr Ho gave instruction to start pushing as he happens to be delivering at room 10 (opposit). Daddy is so excited.. he claimed that he can see ur head :P

1.30pm till 2.00pm.. darling heartbeat suddenly dropped drastically from 150 to 60 !! this happen a few time & the sister got worried and immediately call for Dr Ho. God bless, Dr Ho has just delivered the lady at room 10 and had to rush over to save your life.. we were told later that he had not "stitch up" the aunty at room 10 & had to go back to finish the job after delivering you.. Not a word from Dr Ho, the moment he came in, he sat down, cut, vacuum and wala !!! Your delivered within mintues !! all these happened so fast that daddy forgot to take pictures for u :( daddy was also so touched that he released some tears of joy *grin grin*

2.00pm 3.00pm.. you were placed under the warmer & mummy was told to rest.. thereafter, mummy was pushed to the ward & baby to the nursery.

The Day B4 Ur Arrival

Dr Ho wanna Mummy to visit him on 25 Oct 06 (38 weeks & 3 days) because Mummy did not gain any weight over the last week & according to record, i have lost 600g instead. He is worried that you have stop drawing / unable to draw nutrients from Mummy already (my guess haha).

The visit was really a surprise for both Daddy & Mummy... Dr Ho advised that Mummy cervix was already opened 3cm and Mummy felt no pain / contraction at all. We were told to go back the following day & check into the labour ward directly.

Daddy & Mummy were very excited.. we didnt know what shld we do coz your arrival will be a week plus earlier then our expectation.. in the end.. we went home for a nap.. We are suppose to meet aunty yvonne & uncle ivan for dinner that night. However, before we leave home, nainai called daddy and said that yeye was choke by a fish bone.

We had to cancel our dinner date & sent yeye to Alexander Hospital. We spent a good 3 hrs there waiting for doctors and x-ray. Oh aunty esther & uncle freddy were also there with daddy & muumy, waiting for the specialist to come. Guess what.. by the time the specialist arrived to check on yeye, the fish bone has already decended from his throat to his stomach :) the episode really gave nainai a good scared !! to the extend that she said she will not buy fish head anymore.. goodbye forever - granddad favorite dish.. :P

Both daddy & mummy were very tired by the time we reached home.. in another 7hrs, we are due to report to Mt Alvernia !!!

Major Events During Pregnancy

Mummy loves eating fish before conceiving you.. & I dun believe that one should have craving & dislike any particular food during the pregnancy stage.. I have to admit that i am wrong.. even though i have no craving, I definitly cannot stand any dishes that consist of fish. Mummy put on a maximum of 14kg while expecting you and has since shed 6kg after delivering you.

Daddy & Mummy signed up for antenatal class at Mt Alvernia (the hospital where you will be delivered). The antenatal class consist of 6 lessons, from nutrition for mummy to different stages of delivery process to taking care of you after birth. We found the class to be really useful & informative.. gd for lazy parents like us who do not read a lot.. haha.. we would really recomend any parents' to be to sign up for it..

One of the proudest thing Daddy did was to obtain my degree while working. It really took Daddy a lot of discipline to finish the whole course while having to balance work, family & social life. This is not easy & daddy does not wish darling to go thu the same tedious process as me. YeYe & NaiNai were extremely happy that day & they attended the graduation ceremony together with Mummy. Coincidentally, Uncle Ivan's graduation day was also the same Daddy eventhough we major different faculty.

1st Blog

Phew !! Finally managed to get this blog up with the help of Yee Yee Joyce & a few other aunties who are proud of their babys like Mummy.

We would like to dedicate this blog to our beloved daughter babygoh. =D Daddy & Mummy will decide on a name for you later.
